Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an Occupational Therapist PRN to join our compassionate therapy team. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized care plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to support recovery and independence.

You will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, monitor progress, document outcomes, and educate patients and families to sustain gains.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an OT program.
• OTR certification and Texas OT licensure.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Experience in an acute care facility.
• Ability to work 2 shifts per month minimum.

Responsabilités

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered
• (OT) Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Texas
• Masters Degree from an OT program
• Experience in an acute care facility required
• Must be able to work 2 shifts per month minimum
