Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team as a PRN clinical professional. The role involves initial assessments, therapeutic procedures, and interventions in accordance with hospital policies and applicable law.

You will work with physicians and a multi-disciplinary team to develop individualized care plans and deliver compassionate therapy to help patients regain independence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
  • Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
  • Current BLS through AHA.
  • Current FIM required (within 90 days of hire).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating patients’ functional abilities and developing therapy plans with physicians.
  • Delivering evidence‑based interventions to promote healing and independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust plans for quality outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families to build understanding and engagement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners for seamless transitions of care.
  • Lead by example and support therapy assistants and students.

Job Summary and Qualifications:

We are currently looking for an ambitious Occupational Therapist to our team. As our Therapist, you will be a skilled member of the health care team and provide therapeutic services to patients using initial assessments, therapeutic procedures and interventions in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital and applicable law. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

  • You will treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques according to prescriptions from a physician, performs testing and evaluation procedures on patients.
  • You will record and document patient observation, treatment and changes in condition. You will also monitor, analyze and review clinical data. Also, you will reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based upon patient performance.
  • You will communicate clearly and provide explanation of care in a way that can be easily understood by patients and their families. Also, ensure patient's family is informed of patient status.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters preferred.
  • Experience in appropriate healthcare setting preferred.
  • Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA (American Heart Association).
  • Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire).
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills.

Your role will include:

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
