Job summary

IEP Corp in Los Angeles, CA seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility team. You will evaluate and treat residents with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments to promote independence and quality of life.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists, develop individualized treatment plans, document progress, educate families, and stay current with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Licensed OT in California.
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Knowledge of current occupational therapy practice standards and regulations.
  • Proficient with EMR and healthcare software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities and functional limitations using standardized assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, resident goals, and physician orders.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercise, ADL training, cognitive retraining, and environmental modifications.
  • Monitor and document resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes for residents.
  • Educate residents and family members on occupational therapy goals, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of occupational therapy services provided.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-service education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapy practice and relevant regulations.

Job description

We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our team at a skilled nursing facility.
