Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to assess and treat patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial deficits that affect daily living activities. You will collaborate with the care team, set goals with patients and families, and document progress in accordance with hospital standards.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, state licensure or eligibility, CPR certification, and NBCOT certification.

Responsibilities

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills; coordinates work performed by support personnel; effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families and members of the healthcare team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and establishes goals and plan of care, which are appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard, and possibly specialized, occupational therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Completes documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.
• Participates in departmental initiatives for operational improvement including committees and educational offerings.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum
  Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university
• Preferred
  Master's Degree

  Current driver's license may be required
