Job summary

Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for a PRN on-site role serving hospice patients in Hillsborough County. The schedule offers flexibility with approximately 64 hours per month and self-scheduling based on patient needs.

The OT will evaluate needs, supervise an OTA, and coordinate home modifications and orthotic devices to maximize safety and independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum.
• Minimum one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Reli able transportation and a valid FL driver’s license with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates participant’s needs. Follows up during treatment.
• Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant as per FL OT State Practice Act.
• Constructs or provides orthotic and adaptive equipment as needed.
• Conducts home modification assessments and installs equipment to support independence and safety.
