Job summary

Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. Peoria Campus is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for K-8th grade to assess and treat students, implement ABA strategies, and support data-driven instruction.

The role includes supervising COTAs, maintaining IEP data, Medicaid billing, and collaboration with families. Requires AZ IVP clearance, and OTR certification. Join a state-of-the-art Autism Center with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

  • Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions.

Occupational Therapist (OT) - Peoria Campus (K-8th Grade)

$3k Sign-On Bonus and up to $1,000/year in non-taxable reimbursement for CEUs and licensure fees.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and implementation of students' occupational therapy needs
  • All record-keeping related to each student assigned to the therapist
  • Supervision of COTA staff
  • Engage in data-driven instruction
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
Duties:
  • Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs
  • Supervise, mentor, and support COTA; train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to:
    • fine motor skills
    • life skills/training
    • psychosocial adaptations
    • sensory processing/adaptations
    • visual motor skills
  • Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions
  • Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
  • Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals and Student Digital Portfolios
  • Maintain timely and accurate Medicaid Billing
  • Accountability for growth and proficiency in IEP goals
  • Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
  • Write OT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPs
  • Attend IEP/MET meetings for students with OT services

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model is preferred
  • Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Minimum of two years OT experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
Required:
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Bachelor's, Master’s Degree or higher
  • Certified OTR in the state of Arizona
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:

Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
