Job summary

Maria Parham Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for outpatient services, with a full-time, exempt schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, plus weekend/holiday float rotations to Acute/Inpatient Rehab.

The role focuses on geriatric, orthopedic, and neurological caseloads, providing evaluation, treatment planning, and collaboration with the rehab team to support patient recovery and functional independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and/or Outpatient setting experience preferred.
• Current state OT license.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' ability to perform daily activities and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and educate patients and caregivers on deficits and adaptive techniques.
• Document patient progress, monitor plans of care, and coordinate discharge planning with the rehab team.
• Supervise and delegate appropriate aspects of care to certified OT assistants and therapy technicians as allowed by state regulations.

How You'll Contribute

The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients' ability to safely and effectively perform daily activities and develops individualized treatment plans to improve functional independence. This role implements therapeutic interventions using appropriate modalities, educates patients and caregivers on deficits and adaptive techniques, and provides guidance on the selection and use of adaptive equipment to support recovery. The OT documents patient progress in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards, monitors and adjusts plans of care as needed, and collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary rehab team on treatment goals and discharge planning. The therapist also supervises and delegates appropriate aspects of care to certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with state regulations and professional practice standards.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
• Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and/or Outpatient setting experience preferred
• Current state Occupational Therapist (OT) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification is required
