Inova Health’s Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our acute care team. This full-time role is scheduled for Day Shift, Monday–Friday, with every other Sunday and one holiday per year.

The hospital is committed to safety, quality care, and a positive patient experience. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Virginia OT licensure, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Virginia license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies regarding evaluation timelines, forms, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and care team while handling administrative tasks.
• Demonstrates skill competencies in treatment modalities and equipment and adjusts treatment plans as needed.
• Selects appropriate evaluation and treatment methods based on diagnosis and patient status.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols while performing re-evaluations, according to department guidelines, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Licensure: Occupational Therapist Virginia license
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualification

• Occupation Therapist (OT) experience in the acute care or hospital setting
