Job summary

Intensive Specialty Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide direct patient care in a Long-Term Acute Care setting at our Shreveport campus. You will assess patients, develop care plans, and deliver treatments while collaborating with the rehab team.

Responsibilities include program development participation and supervising licensed therapists and support staff. A OT license and LTAC experience are preferred; strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state license to practice Occupational Therapy and license renewal as required.
• LTAC experience preferred.
• English reading/writing and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Perform patient assessment, care planning, and direct treatment.
• Offer consultation to a general rehab caseload and contribute to program development.
• Supervise licensed therapists, assistants, technicians, and aides as required.

We provide cardiopulmonary care, ventilator and respiratory care, complex wound care, rehabilitation therapies, addiction medicine program, geriatric psychiatry program, multidisciplinary pain program, and outpatient counseling program. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing Direct Patient Care within the scope of practice. Will provide patient assessment, care planning, direct treatment and consultation to a general rehab caseload, participated in the clinical program development and supervises other licensed therapists, assistants, technician, and aides as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school
• Must hold a current state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the applicable State Licensing Board.
• Long term acute care experience is preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills
