Job summary

Interim HealthCare Inc. is seeking a Home Health Occupational Therapist (OT) in Rapid City. The role is PRN and part time, performing in-home therapy to help patients regain independence and resume daily activities in their own homes.

You will join a team delivering personalized care, with emphasis on safety, functional goals, and patient education, while enjoying flexible schedules and opportunities for online training and CEUs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and active OT license in South Dakota.
• Minimum of 2 years of occupational therapy experience, ideally in home healthcare.
• CPR certification.
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
• Good clinical judgement, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to illness or injury.
• Work as part of a home health team including RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PT and SLP to support the patient’s plan of care.
• Assess patient, observe deficits, establish therapy goals and document progress.
• Assist patient with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination.
• Suggest adaptive equipment such as grab bars and shower chairs to improve safety and independence.
• Assess fall risks and introduce strategies to improve home safety.
• Educate patient and family on plan of care, exercises, goals and self-care.

As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
