Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth is seeking an Occupational Therapist for part-time weekend coverage. The role supports an 815-bed Magnet-designated hospital, with focus on inpatient acute care. Flexible weekend shifts (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Monday) and on-call rotation during holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
• OT license Texas Upon Hire Required.
• BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care.
• Good verbal and written communication in English.
• Problem-solving, time management and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and treatment goals.
• Educates patient and family through instruction and handouts in treatment plan.
• Documents assessment, plan of care and re-certifications per guidelines.
• Works in partnership with peers and other disciplines.
• Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition.

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
• No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
• Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.
• OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
• Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

What You Will Do

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
• Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
• Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
