Job summary

German Centre in Boston, MA, is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to evaluate residents, develop individualized plans, and deliver skilled interventions to improve independence and quality of life. The role collaborates with physicians and families to set goals and ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.

You will train residents and caregivers in adaptive equipment and fall prevention, document progress, and maintain compliance with standards in a dynamic long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current, active MA Occupational Therapist license.
• Minimum 1 year experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence, functional abilities, and quality of life.
• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to enhance activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity function, mobility, balance, and safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation team members, and families to establish goals and deliver coordinated, resident-centered care.
• Recommend and train residents and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and fall prevention strategies to promote safe, independent living.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation, monitor resident progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain compliance with regulatory and facility standards.

Skills

Graduate of accredited OT program
