Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK, seeks a full-time Day OT to join the rehabilitation team. The OT will develop and implement inpatient/outpatient programs, document thoroughly, and supervise supportive staff, with discharge coordination as a key responsibility.

Qualified candidates hold OT licensure in Oklahoma and a degree in OT; BLS is required. Strong communication and computer skills are essential in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Eligible for or holds Oklahoma OT licensure to practice.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, administer, and implement OT treatment programs for inpatients/outpatients and injured workers.
• Ensure proper documentation and supervise supportive OT personnel.
• Serve as a discharge liaison.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in treatment procedures and home programs.
• Use time effectively by delegating tasks to trained support personnel.
• Write functional goals and reassess progress, adjusting plans as needed.

Position Summary

Responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of OT treatment programs for inpatients/outpatients and injured workers including patients in the skilled nursing facility. Responsible for appropriate documentation. Supervises supportive OT personnel. Serve as a liaison upon discharge.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Implements patient care in a knowledgeable and skillful manner, maintaining a high quality of work performance in all areas.
• Demonstrates the ability to provide the proper assistance, verbal cueing, and etc. necessary for optimal performance.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate patients and establish an appropriate plan of care, adapting the plan of care to patient/caregiver needs and goals.
• Demonstrates the ability to instruct patients and/or caregivers in treatment procedures, home programs, orthotics/prosthetics and special equipment using clear verbal and/or written instructions.
• Demonstrates the ability to use time effectively by delegating an appropriate portion of treatment to trained support personnel.
• Demonstrates ability to write functional goals and re-assess patient progress towards goals when appropriate, adjusting the plan of care as needed.
