Job summary

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. You will develop and implement OT programs for diverse patient populations including inpatients and outpatients, with emphasis on functional recovery and discharge planning.

You will document progress, supervise assistive staff, and educate patients and families on home programs, orthotics, and safe activity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Eligible for or holds Oklahoma OT licensure.
• BLS certification is required.
• Previous OT experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Typing and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, administer, and implement OT treatment programs for inpatients, outpatients, and injured workers.
• Document appropriate patient progress and discharge planning.
• Supervise supportive OT personnel and liaise on discharge.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in treatment procedures, home programs, and use of devices.

Position Summary

Responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of OT treatment programs for inpatients/outpatients and injured workers including patients in the skilled nursing facility. Responsible for appropriate documentation. Supervises supportive OT personnel. Serve as a liaison upon discharge.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Implements patient care in a knowledgeable and skillful manner, maintaining a high quality of work performance in all areas.
• Demonstrates the ability to provide the proper assistance, verbal cueing, and etc. necessary for optimal performance.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate patients and establish an appropriate plan of care, adapting the plan of care to patient/caregiver needs and goals.
• Demonstrates the ability to instruct patients and/or caregivers in treatment procedures, home programs, orthotics/prosthetics and special equipment using clear verbal and/or written instructions.
• Demonstrates the ability to use time effectively by delegating an appropriate portion of treatment to trained support personnel.
• Demonstrates ability to write functional goals and re-assess patient progress towards goals when appropriate, adjusting the plan of care as needed.
