Qualifications

• OT degree at any of the three levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral) in Occupational Therapy.
• 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience.
• Virginia license to practice Occupational Therapy (OT) upon hire; CPR/BLS certification required; NBCOT license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations, determines OT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs occupational therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improve mobility, relieve pain, improve health, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
• Evaluates and assesses the patient timely, based on practice guidelines and regulatory standards; documents progress for evaluation, billing and reporting purposes.
• Advises on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities.
• Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs; participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
• Assists and participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students.
• Follows and carries out the treatment plan; modifies to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria; updates plan of care based on testing results.
