Job summary

Care New England Health System in Rhode Island seeks an Occupational Therapist to help individuals regain independence. You will assess, develop and implement treatment plans, and collaborate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to improve cognitive, motor, sensory and daily living skills.

You will monitor progress, adjust plans, educate caregivers, and maintain compliant documentation while upholding ethical standards and professional guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Rhode Island licensure required.
  • Certification as an AOTA-Registered Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the patient's needs, focusing on cognitive, fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to establish personalized treatment goals and plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to select OT treatment appropriate to the patient needs.
  • Advocate for patients by modeling professional standards and meeting patients' service needs.
  • Routinely monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about strategies to maintain progress at home and in external settings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, plans, progress notes, and records per regulatory guidelines.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines in all practice aspects.

Job Summary

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in helping individuals regain, develop, or enhance their functional independence and quality of life. The incumbent conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, implements interventions, and collaborating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create and implement evidence-based treatment plans that are tailored to the needs of the patients, with an emphasis on improving the Patients' cognitive, fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
  • Collaborate with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to establish personalized treatment goals and plans
  • Utilizes evidence based practice to select OT treatment appropriate to the needs of the patient
  • Provides role as patient advocate through his/ /her own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients needs for service
  • Routinely monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about strategies to facilitate continued progress and maintain functional gains at home and in various external settings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines in all aspects of practice.
Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy

Minimum Of 1 Year Experience

Rhode Island licensure

Certification as a Registered Occupational Therapist by the American Occupational Therapy Association
