Job description

Inova Physical Therapy at our Springfield/Franconia location is looking to add a Hand Therapist to join our Outpatient Therapy Center. We have an exciting new program and we need to add a new Hand Therapist to our dedicated team. This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Document evaluation results clearly and thoroughly according to department policy.
• Complete daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment, performance, and assessment of progress toward goals, including discharge summaries if needed.
• Prepare discharge notes summarizing treatment course, progress, discharge needs, and follow-up recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and other team members.
• Provide educational materials tailored to patients' understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrate competency in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols. Perform re-evaluations and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Additional Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Certification: BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Licensure: Virginia license required upon start.
• Experience: Not required but one year as a hand therapist preferred.
