Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Hand Therapist to join our expanding team at Inova Physical Therapy, located at 46000 Center Oak Plaza #250, Sterling, VA. This full-time position (Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week) requires availability until 7:00 PM two evenings per week. We utilize a 1 x 1 patient service model.

Certified Hand Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Complete detailed daily progress notes documenting patient responses, performance, assessments, discharge planning, and treatment summaries.
• Document clearly, concisely, and legibly within established timeframes to facilitate ongoing treatment, payor interpretation, and reimbursement.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and team members to coordinate care and address patient needs promptly.
• Develop and prioritize treatment goals based on evaluations and input from patients, families, and the care team.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, education, and supervision to less experienced staff and students in hand therapy and upper quarter rehabilitation.
• Apply current therapeutic techniques, adjusting treatment plans as patient conditions evolve, with documentation supporting clinical decisions.

Additional Requirements

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Licensure: Eligible for Virginia license as a Physical or Occupational Therapist.
• Experience: At least 5 years as an Occupational or Physical Therapist, including 2+ years in orthopedic splinting and adult hand rehabilitation.
• Education: Bachelor's in Occupational or Physical Therapy; Master's preferred.
