Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to organize and conduct occupational therapy programs within the facility to facilitate rehabilitation and independence for residents in Wayne, NJ. The OT will direct resident participation to restore, reinforce and enhance performance, promoting adaptation and productive living.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state.
• Registered and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents, develops treatment goals and methods, implements the OT treatment plan and documents related services.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices and trains residents in their use (splints/orthotics).
• Selects appropriate activities based on each resident's capacity and interest.
• Consults with rehab team to tailor activity programs to resident needs.
• Instructs residents in skills required for participation and monitors progress.
• Attends care conferences and training sessions for staff in OT techniques.
• Requisitions supplies and maintains equipment; supervises support staff.
• Ensures high quality service in a compassionate environment.
