Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource for staff and students. The OT will design care plans, adjust treatment based on patient response, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the medical team to ensure optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold an OT license, BLS certification, and a bachelor’s degree, with the ability to implement evidence-based practice within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• OT license per state regulations
• Bachelor's Degree required

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to assist patient transfers with help as needed.
• Promotes safe body mechanics to protect patients and staff.
• Develops and documents a plan of care with goals, treatment and discharge plan.
• Educates patients and families using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes.
• Performs examinations and selects appropriate assessment methods.
• Screens patients to determine need for therapy services.
• Provides supervision to COTA and technicians as allowed by regulation.
• Communicates status and discharge needs with the medical team.
