Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages in a dynamic care setting. You will serve as a clinical resource, mentor staff and students, and contribute to evidence-based rehab programs across the department.

The role emphasizes designing individualized plans of care, monitoring progress, and collaborating with the care team to achieve meaningful functional outcomes and discharge planning, while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Licensed OT (IDFPR) required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor.
• Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care according to department policy including goals and discharge plans.
• Supervises COTA and rehabilitation technicians in accordance with regulatory agencies.
• Communicates patient performance, status changes, and discharge recommendations to the medical team.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA
