  • Recommend modifications to the school environment to enhance accessibility.
  • Train school staff on effective techniques to support student independence.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and therapy outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with IEP goals and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to annual IEP reviews and triennial re-evaluations.

This role is all about collaboration with educators and parents to ensure our students thrive in both academic and social environments. While primarily focused on supervision and evaluation, there will be occasional opportunities for hands-on treatment, making this a truly rewarding position!

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students' functional abilities using standardized tests, observations, and interviews.
  • Develop comprehensive reports that highlight strengths, barriers, and therapy needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to help create or revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Design and implement individualized therapy plans to enhance fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, visual perceptual and cognitive skills, as well as self-care and daily living skills.
  • Provide engaging direct therapy sessions, both individual and group.
  • Adapt classroom activities and materials to boost student participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, aides, and parents to seamlessly integrate therapy strategies into the classroom environment.
  • Recommend modifications to the school environment to enhance accessibility for all students.
  • Train school staff on effective techniques to support students' functional independence.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of student progress and therapy outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with IEP goals and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to annual IEP reviews and triennial re-evaluations with enthusiasm!

Required Skills:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience in pediatric occupational therapy, preferably in a school setting.
