Job summary

ACT Therapy Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (full-time or part-time) to work with children birth through 18 in a clinic setting.

You will treat diagnoses including dysphagia, autism, developmental delays, and sensory integration, focusing on cognition, emotional regulation and activities of daily living while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid North Carolina OT license.
  • NCBOT certification.
  • Experience in early intervention and pediatrics.
  • Ability to pass background screening, drug test and driver history check.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle; up to three vehicle infractions in two years.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment, evaluation, and treatment of referred patients.
  • Develop Plan of Care for patients served.
  • Set treatment goals and milestones with patients.
  • Document progress toward goals in a timely manner.
  • Communicate patient status to interdisciplinary team.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy.
  • Attend IFSP/IEP meetings and care team conferences.
  • Participate in continuing education and mandatory trainings.
  • Comply with laws including HIPAA.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Education

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Valid North Carolina Occupational Therapy license
NCBOT certified

Job description

ACT Therapy Services is hiring a full OR part-time Occupational Therapist in the Charlotte, NC area who is motivated to work with children ages birth through 18. Clinic setting only.

The person selected to fill this position will work with children with a variety of diagnoses to help them move towards and meet milestones. Diagnoses range in severity, complexity, and co-morbidity, including but not limited to: Dysphagia, Autism, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, fine motor delays, gross motor delays, and sensory integration. Qualified Occupational Therapists will also target areas of cognition, emotional regulation and activities of daily living.

*This can be a FULL or PART-TIME position-up to the candidate!

WORK HOURS:

Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Friday 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM or 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

A successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid North Carolina Occupational Therapy license
  • NCBOT certified
  • Previous experience working in early intervention and pediatrics
  • Ability to pass a background screening, drug test, & driver history check.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Maximum of three vehicle infractions within the last two (2) years.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assessment, evaluation, and treatment of all referred patients.
  • Appropriate and timely development of Plan of Care for patients served.
  • Establish treatment goals and milestones with patients.
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of progress toward goals.
  • Appropriate and timely communication of patient status to members of their interdisciplinary team.
  • Counsel, educate, and instruct patients and their families regarding their speech-language therapy treatment.
  • Attend patient care team meetings, IFSP & IEP Meetings, and other conference as requested.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory in-service training.
  • Comply with Federal, State, & Local laws, including HIPAA.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.
