Job summary

The Occupational Therapist at Akron Children's Hospital Belpre campus applies professional knowledge to evaluate, assess and treat patients with diverse physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities. The role is onsite Monday–Friday with shifts between 7:30AM and 6:30PM in Belpre, OH.

You will collaborate with patients, families, and the care team, document per division protocols, and supervise COTA/L or students. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Education must be a degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate).
• NBCOT certification and Ohio licensure required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and team members.
• Complete appropriate documentation and patient/family education per division protocols.
• Supervise COTA/L, volunteers or students per OT regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus (taxable) Available full‑time, 40 Hours/week Monday - Friday, Shifts between 7:30AM - 6:30PM. Onsite Belpre, OH (Relocation may be available)

Summary

Responsibilities

1. Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
2. Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
3. Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education, per division protocols.
4. Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.
5. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in occupational therapy is required.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
• Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None.
