Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Santa Cruz is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join a compassionate team dedicated to resident well-being. The OTA administers treatments, conducts assessments, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary staff to implement care plans.

Eligible candidates will hold an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy and California certification; new graduates welcome. A sign-on bonus is offered along with PTO and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• California license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant is required.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.
