Overview: The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, observes patient progress, recommends changes in treatment plans based on patient responses, and educates patients about the purpose and expected effects of treatments. The OTA documents progress notes in medical records, maintains departmental records, and complies with regulatory agencies. They demonstrate awareness of safety issues, indications and contraindications of treatments, patient privacy, and confidentiality. The OTA provides support within the department and the community for educational purposes.
