Job summary

Hayward Hills Healthcare Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our dedicated care team in Hayward, California. You will administer therapy to residents, assess muscle strength and range of motion, and collaborate with OT/PT and nursing staff to promote safe, effective discharge planning.

This role requires an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy, California OTA license, and at least one year of clinical experience (new grads welcome).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Tests and measures muscle strength, coordination, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment according to plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.

ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
