Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to collaborate with OTs in delivering patient-centered therapy. You will document OT services, educate patients and families, and supervise support staff in a team-based setting.

The role requires completion of an AOTA-approved OTA program with active licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification. Day shifts with PRN flexibility are available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AOTA approved occupational therapy assistant education program and successful OTA certification.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an OTA in Oklahoma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and maintained during employment.
• Equivalent education/experience may meet requirements.

• Performs responsibilities as an integral team member of an OT/OTA collaboration focused on patient centered decision making.
• Documents delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, significant others, and staff members.
• Directs and supervises activities of support personnel.
• Performs occupational therapy programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, using standard OT techniques for the patient’s age and needs.

• Performs occupational therapy programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, utilizing standard occupational therapy techniques as appropriate for the patient's age, functional impairments, abilities, needs, and desires.

Compensation

• $33.00 flat rate

Education

Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience

Licensure/Certification

• Licensed or eligible for licensure, or temporary licensure, as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Examiners.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
