A healthcare facility seeks a qualified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) who will treat patients, record treatment notes, and assist with training staff. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in relevant software. The ideal candidate must be licensed and maintain continuing education requirements.
Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) PRN (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board. Treat patients per the physician treatment plan. Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility. Record evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, recertification documentation, and treatment changes as per Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training in preparation for discharge. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Report equipment problems to ensure proper maintenance. Must relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
This position is not supervisory.
Requires standing, walking frequently; sitting occasionally; reaching, pushing, pulling frequently; talking, hearing, tasting, smelling frequently; exerting force over 20 pounds; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; vision with ability to focus.
