Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our fast-paced rehabilitation team on a full-time days schedule. This role requires state licensure, CPR certification, and a collaborative, patient‑centered approach.

You will work Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm performing patient assessment, documenting care, coordinating with the supervising OT, instructing families, and helping keep the unit clean, safe, and compliant with

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a COTA in the state where services are rendered.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with all regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable laws and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is 60-bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!
