Job summary

Sweetwater Care and Rehab is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join an in-house therapy team focused on patient-centered rehabilitation. The role involves direct patient care under the supervision of an OT, with opportunities to contribute to program development and patient education within a collaborative, family-like environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Ability to document clearly and accurately in medical records.
• Demonstrates knowledge of therapy practice and patient care processes.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and adhere to facility documentation guidelines.
• Record treatments and progress notes in medical records.
• Assist in maintaining department and equipment.
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
• Communicate patient progress, problems and plans with supervisor and health team.
• Support training programs for staff within the facility.
• Record treatment charges per policy and procedures.
• Teach patients' families or nursing staff the home program.

Responsibilities:

• Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and adhere to facility documentation guidelines
• Record treatments given and progress notes in medical record
• Assist in maintaining department
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area
• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems and plans.
• Participate in training programs for other staff in the facility
• Record treatment charges per the facility policy and procedures
• Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program

Experience/Qualifications:

Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant
