Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Sacramento, CA is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide 1:1 patient care in 60‑minute sessions under an OT's supervision. You will help adults with neurological injuries through functional activities, ADLs, and adapted equipment in an outpatient setting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, ongoing documentation, and adherence to professional standards, with flexible hours and opportunities for clinical growth.

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program.
• Current OTA certification and licensure to practice in the state of application.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with neurological injuries.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities and use of assistive devices per the treatment plan.
• Support Occupational Therapist in outcome measures collection and complex procedures.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and activities under OT direction.
• Participate in program evaluation and development.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all care provided.
• Follow AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

• Provide 1:1 patient care in 60-minute treatment sessions, focusing on functional rehabilitation for adults with neurological injuries

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided
• Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
• Current CPR certification
