Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for our Neuro Rehab Outpatient Clinic in Maine. This full-time role offers 1:1, 60-minute treatment sessions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helping adults recover from neurological injuries to regain independence.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document thoroughly, and educate patients and caregivers, while enjoying flexible scheduling and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current OTA certification and license in state of application.
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred in neurological injuries.
• CPR certification currently held.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with exercises, ADLs, functional activities, and adaptive devices per the plan.
• Assist Occupational Therapist with outcome measures and complex procedures.
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers as directed by the OT.
• Participate in program evaluation and development.
• Maintain thorough documentation of care provided.
• Adhere to AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time

Neuro Rehab Outpatient Clinic | Monday-Friday | No Evenings, Weekends, or Holidays

Join a collaborative neuro rehab team where you'll provide 1:1, 60-minute treatment sessions that help adults recovering from neurological injuries regain independence and improve their quality of life.

In This Role, You'll:

• Deliver personalized, hands-on therapy under the direction of an Occupational Therapist
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, ADLs, functional activities, and adaptive equipment training
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve meaningful patient outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers while maintaining accurate documentation
• Utilize innovative technology and equipment in a supportive outpatient setting

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided
• Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
• Current CPR certification
