Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in El Paso, TX is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a PRN role within our community-based neurorehab team. You will support adults with neurological injuries, implement therapeutic activities, and adapt tasks to real-world environments to promote independence.

Qualifications

• OTA degree and active COTA licensure are required.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing vocational and educational activities to restore task performance.
• Design and adapt equipment for work and living environments to improve participation.
• Conduct community reintegration activities to support needs during physical activity.
• Provide training to individuals and document training outcomes.
• Support treatment plans by reporting status changes to the rehab team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Occupational Therapy Assistant/COTA - (PRN) – El Paso, TX

Rehab Without Walls is seeking a COTA to join our community-based neurorehab team. If you’re passionate about functional, real-life therapy and value flexibility & clinical autonomy, this role is for you. (2+ years experience preferred in neurorehab)

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of vocational and educational activities designed to restore and reinforce individuals' task performance and promote their overall health and self-sufficiency
• Designing and adapting equipment for working and living environments, including fabricating assistive devices to improve participation in the program and/or community
• Conducting community reintegration activities to assist individuals with their occupational therapy needs during physical activity
• Providing training to individuals and any others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results of the training
• Supporting individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the rehabilitation specialist, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniques
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions
• Current CPR certification
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
