The Occupational Therapy Assistant in Home Health is responsible for providing occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore them to their fullest physical ability. The Occupational Therapy Assistant performs duties in accordance with policies, procedures, and the established plan of care.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA, OTA) in Home Health provides occupational therapy to patients at home, aiming to restore their physical abilities, following policies, procedures, and the plan of care established by the supervising OT.

• Comply with all state-specific laws regarding occupational therapy in home care, adhering strictly to treatment plans defined by the supervising OT.
• Follow the plan of care, instruct, and assist patients with evidence-based treatments within the scope of practice and legal regulations.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising OT, nurse, or physician. Coordinate care with healthcare team members as needed.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members about therapy within your scope of practice.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current OTA licensure in Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
