Orlando Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide quality patient care in the LMH Inpatient Rehab Services department. The role involves following prescribed treatment plans, communicating with healthcare teams, and ensuring compliance with practice standards. This is a pool position offering flexibility with work schedules and opportunities for professional growth.

Schedule: First Shift | One weekend shift per month on Saturday or Sunday

Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will follow a plan of treatment for patient care established by a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
Essential Functions
• Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice.
• Implements treatment and modifies accordingly.
• Provides patient/family/caregiver training as appropriate.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
• Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
• Communicates with the team on the patient’s progress and needs verbally, and by preparing written documentation as required by the department, and the care team. Identifies the need to update the treatment plan, and communicates input to the therapist.
• Communicates input for discharge planning to the therapist.
• Ensures accurate billing.
• Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
