Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population.
• Knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, able to execute tasks in a quickly changing environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Administer participant's treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
• Coordinate with the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participant's treatment plans.
• Handle scheduling of participant treatments, clinical visits, and billing.
• Deliver and document Occupational Therapy interventions, including the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance.
• Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers/families in the use and care of therapeutic equipment.
• Track and manage maintenance for equipment.
• Remain alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers, updating the Occupational Therapist promptly of any changes in participants' conditions or functional status.
• Participate under supervision in end-of-life care coordination and support.
• Be legally authorized to practice in the position location.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all procedures and information about team members, participants, and families.
• Follow policies and procedures and participate in required Quality Improvement activities, staff training, and meetings.
• Communicate regularly with Supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities.
• Complete all mandated trainings and education timely.
• Complete all mandated occupational health screenings as needed.
• Exercise flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule Notes

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with on-site work required for three days and off-site work for two days. Off-site duties include mobile visits to participants' homes for treatments, equipment setup/training, and some telehealth. Responsibilities also include scheduling recurring appointments and maintaining the rehabilitation gym.
