Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, develop and adjust treatment plans, and provide therapy within a hospital rehabilitation setting.

You will educate patients and families, collaborate with physicians and care teams, and contribute to a patient-centered rehabilitation program aimed at successful community reintegration.

Qualifications

• Valid state license or eligibility for state license as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification or completion within first 90 days of employment.
• Preferred acute or inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plans.
• Delegates and directs therapy services for assigned patients.
• Designs functional programs to support return to community activities.
• Educates patients, families, students, coworkers and self in therapy goals and progress.
• Performs other professional duties related to patient care and program delivery.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient's need and physician direction
• Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline specific therapy services for those assigned patients
• Ensures design of functional treatment programs allowing for effective return to community activities
• Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers and self
• Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline specific therapy services and design of program delivery

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid state licenseor eligibility for state license as a Occupational Therapist
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment
