Job summary

Onward Education seeks a full-time Occupational Therapist to support a Dakota County, MN school for the 2026-2027 year. Start date ASAP; assignment ends November 24, 2026. In-person role located in Dakota, MN with 37.5 hours per week.

Experience in school settings and collaboration with families is preferred to support student participation and daily living activities. The position focuses on developing motor skills, self-care tasks, sensory processing strategies, and adaptive equipment

Qualifications

• Valid licensure as an occupational therapist in Minnesota.
• Experience providing therapy services in a school environment preferred.
• Ability to evaluate student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with school staff and families.
• Knowledge of special education plans such as IEPs and 504 Plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in developing fine and gross motor skills to support classroom participation.
• Support students in mastering daily self-care tasks such as dressing and eating.
• Address sensory processing challenges and create strategies for sensory-friendly environments.
• Recommend and train students on adaptive equipment to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with educators and families to implement accommodations and support strategies.
