Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs/Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, SD seeks an Occupational Therapist to coordinate and deliver therapy services, implement individualized treatment programs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, planning goals, documenting results, and communicating with patients, families, and physicians. A valid state OT license is required; PTO, sign-on bonuses and loan repayment may be offered.

Qualifications

• Active occupational therapy license in state of practice.
• License required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver OT services for patients from infant to geriatrics per unit guidelines.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; evaluate patients using data from records, interviews, observations and team input.
• Use activities to promote health; establish and adjust intervention goals based on ongoing evaluations.
• Provide direct therapy in various settings; coordinate with rehab, medical and nursing care plans.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes and related reports.
• Communicate with patient, family, physician and care team regarding status and needs.
• Work with interdisciplinary team; involve family/physician in intervention programmes.
• Participate in professional development and share new knowledge with colleagues; supervise students.
• Contribute to department program development.
