Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide home-based Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers and their families in California. You will conduct developmental assessments and help families reach individual goals within natural environments.

The role offers flexible schedules, mileage reimbursement, a sign-on bonus, and professional development support while working with a supportive team in a statewide program.

Qualifications

• California OT license is required.
• Pediatric experience in Early Intervention preferred.
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide occupational therapy services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow IFSPs and work with families to develop strategies to meet developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, community).
• Complete re-assessments and write progress reports bi-annual.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal laws.

Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
