Job summary

The Center at Blue Hills in Stoughton, MA is seeking a Full-time and PRN Occupational Therapist to join its in-house therapy team at a 63-bed skilled nursing facility focused on Alzheimer's and dementia care.

The OT will evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, and deliver interventions to promote independence in ADLs, mobility, and overall function while supervising COTAs and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTD, MOT, or BSOT).
• Current State Occupational Therapist license (or eligible).
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
• Passion for working with elderly and post-acute populations.

Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to address functional limitations.
• Provide direct treatment to residents to improve motor skills, coordination, cognitive function, and ability to perform ADLs.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and resident progress in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines.
• Participate in discharge planning, care conferences, and team meetings as needed.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and provide clinical guidance as appropriate.
