Job summary

Word Therapy, LLC in Sarasota County Schools is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide occupational therapy services in Sarasota County Schools as a 1099 contractor.

This role offers independence with company support, a school-year schedule, flexible hours, and collaboration with teachers, ESE staff, SLPs, families, and other professionals to help students participate and succeed at school.

Qualifications

• Master's or entry-level doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
• Pediatric and/or school-based experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sensory processing, fine motor development, and developmental needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Reliable, professional, and compassionate.
• Enjoys working with children and collaborating with school teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to students in assigned schools.
• Evaluate students' functional, developmental, sensory, fine motor, and other occupational therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Address areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, self-care, and functional participation.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, families, SLPs, and other professionals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and school-based team meetings as required.
• Provide education and recommendations to support students across the school environment.
