Job summary

Word Therapy, LLC seeks a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to deliver school-based OT services in Sarasota County Schools. This 1099 contractor role offers flexibility while being supported by an established pediatric therapy company, with opportunities to work within the school calendar and collaborate with teachers and families.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy, have a Florida OT license, and enjoy working with children.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
• Pediatric and/or school-based experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sensory processing, fine motor development, and developmental needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Reliable, professional, and compassionate.
• Enjoys working with children and collaborating with school teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to students in assigned schools.
• Evaluate students' functional, developmental, sensory, fine motor, and other occupational therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Address areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, self-care, and functional participation.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, families, SLPs, and other professionals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and school-based team meetings as required.
• Provide education and recommendations to support students across the school environment.
