Job summary

Lumen Pediatric Therapy LLC, located in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, is seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist to provide compassionate, child-led therapy services to children with autism. Our centers offer a multi-disciplinary environment, working with teams in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy, and Speech‑Language Pathology where you can continue to learn and grow!

In this role, you will:

• Perform Occupational Therapy assessments and develop and implement treatment plans focusing on improving/restoring independence and physical/cognitive functioning.
• Provide one‑on‑one therapy sessions based on the client's individual treatment plan.
• Provide guidance & instruction to family members of developed therapeutic, creative, and self‑care procedures/activities and explain adaptive, progressive approaches and compensatory strategies.
• Conduct functional, cognitive, and sensory re‑evaluations, as indicated, to assess the need for any revisions in the treatment plan.
• Provide consultation to other members of the child's care team in the use of necessary equipment, techniques, modalities, and basic activity programs, when needed.
• Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes. Submit all required paperwork in a timely manner according to Lumen Pediatric Therapy’s policy.
• Complete re‑evaluations yearly to document progress and continued eligibility.
• Work collaboratively with other therapists, providers, administrators, and school staff for effective programs and follow the specified program routines and schedules.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for client and family.
• Attend clinic or payor required ongoing trainings to advance clinical practice & professional development.
• Assist with additional clinical and/or administrative duties as delegated.

Position Requirements

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with at least 1-2 years’ experience providing direct therapy to pediatric clientele, implementing assessments, developing intervention plans, and working on collaborative teams.
• Ideally, experience with children diagnosed with ASD.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift, squat, bend, push/pull 50 pounds as needed for therapy services

Work Environment / Service Hours

• Lumen Pediatric Therapy is a center-based clinical model which supports skill generalization across additional environments (e.g. home, school, or community) as specified by treatment plan and pre‑approved by family & Lumen Pediatric Therapy.
• Work hours will be based upon individual client treatment plan and clinic hours; in the event of session cancellation, therapist will work in conjunction with Lumen Pediatric Therapy and family to make up hours based on relevant payor guidelines.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
