Job summary

Lumen Pediatric Therapy seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to conduct pediatric assessments, create therapy plans, and deliver one-on-one sessions in a collaborative, child-centered setting. You will communicate progress to families and the care team, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and treatment protocols.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, re-evaluate progress annually, and participate in ongoing trainings and family guidance to maximize client independence and development.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT with 1–2 years of direct pediatric therapy experience.
• ASD experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Occupational Therapy assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions per client plan.
• Guide and educate families on therapy procedures and strategies.
• Conduct re-evaluations to assess progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintain clinical documentation and HIPAA-compliant records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including EIP staff, school personnel, and other providers.

As an Occupational Therapist your primary responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, creating treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic activities, and communicating patients' progress to their parents and other medical professionals.

In this role, you will:

• Perform Occupational Therapy assessments and develops and implements treatment plans focusing on improving/restoring independence and physical/cognitive functioning.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions based on the client's individual treatment plan.
• Provide guidance & instruction to family members of developed therapeutic, creative, and self-care procedures/activities and explains adaptive, progressive approaches and compensatory strategies.
• Conduct functional, cognitive, and sensory re-evaluations, as indicated, to assess the need for any revisions in the treatment plan.
• Provide consultation to other members of the child's care team in the use of necessary equipment, techniques, modalities, and basic activity programs, when needed.
• Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes. Submits all required paperwork in a timely manner according to Lumen Pediatric Therapy’s policy.
• Complete re-evaluations yearly to document progress and continued eligibility.
• Work collaboratively with other therapists, providers, administrators, and school staff for effective programs and follow the specified program routines and schedules.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for client and family.
• Attend clinic or payor required ongoing trainings to advance clinical practice & professional development.
• Assist with additional clinical and/or administrative duties as delegate

Position Requirements:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with at least 1-2 years’ experience providing direct therapy to pediatric clientele, implementing assessments, developing intervention plans, and working on collaborative teams.
• Ideally, experience with children diagnosed with ASD.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift, squat, bend, push/pull 50 pounds as needed for therapy services
• Desire for continued learning opportunities

• Lumen Pediatric Therapy is a center-based clinical model which supports skill generalization across additional environments (e.g. home, school, or community) as specified by treatment plan and pre-approved by family & Lumen Pediatric Therapy
• Work hours will be based upon individual client treatment plan and clinic hours; In the event of session cancelation, therapist will work in conjunction with Lumen Pediatric Therapy and family to make up hours based on relevant payor guidelines
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
