Job summary

Lumen Pediatric Therapy in Michigan (Saint Clair Shores) is seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist to conduct assessments, create treatment plans, and lead pediatric therapy sessions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including ABA and Speech-Language Pathology, to optimize client outcomes.

Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation, participate in ongoing trainings, and support families with therapeutic activities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with 1–2 years' direct therapy experience with pediatric clients.
• Experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift, squat, bend, and push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed for therapy services.

Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist your primary responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, creating treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic activities, and communicating patients' progress to their parents and other medical professionals.

In this role, you will:

• Perform Occupational Therapy assessments and develops and implements treatment plans focusing on improving/restoring independence and physical/cognitive functioning.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions based on the client's individual treatment plan.
• Provide guidance & instruction to family members of developed therapeutic, creative, and self-care procedures/activities and explains adaptive, progressive approaches and compensatory strategies.
• Conduct functional, cognitive, and sensory re-evaluations, as indicated, to assess the need for any revisions in the treatment plan.
• Provide consultation to other members of the child's care team in the use of necessary equipment, techniques, modalities, and basic activity programs, when needed.
• Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes. Submits all required paperwork in a timely manner according to Lumen Pediatric Therapy's policy.
• Complete re-evaluations yearly to document progress and continued eligibility.
• Work collaboratively with other therapists, providers, administrators, and school staff for effective programs and follow the specified program routines and schedules.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for client and family.
• Attend clinic or payor required ongoing trainings to advance clinical practice & professional development.
• Assist with additional clinical and/or administrative duties as delegate

Position Requirements:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with at least 1-2 years' experience providing direct therapy to pediatric clientele, implementing assessments, developing intervention plans, and working on collaborative teams.
• Ideally, experience with children diagnosed with ASD.

• Work hours will be based upon individual client treatment plan and clinic hours; In the event of session cancelation, therapist will work in conjunction with Lumen Pediatric Therapy and family to make up hours based on relevant payor guidelines
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
