Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia seeks an Occupational Therapist to deliver patient-centered therapies in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will perform evaluations, determine OT diagnoses, and develop plans of care to restore function, mobility, and daily living skills while monitoring progress and adjusting treatment as needed.

The role requires an OT license in Virginia (VDHP) at hire, CPR/BLS within 30 days, and is supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team

Newport News, VirginiaHiring Range$41.00 - $56.38/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.OverviewAn Occupational Therapist carries out an individualized program for patients with acute and chronic health conditions to maximize their quality of life and achieve their functional goals. The Occupational Therapist may work in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The Therapist is supervised by Rehab Services management and maintains a positive working relationship with health professionals and ancillary staff.What you will doPerforms evaluations, determines OT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs occupational therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improve mobility, relieve pain, improve health, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.Follows and carries out the treatment plan. Modifies to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria and returns to optimal level of care. Utilizes testing results and develops updated plan of care based on principles outlined in appropriate evidence based guidelines.Evaluates and assesses the patient timely, based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence based guidelines and regulatory standards (state & organizational policies, requirements of accrediting bodies, etc.). Assesses and documents progress for evaluation, billing and reporting purposes.Advises on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities.Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
