Responsibilities

• Evaluates and documents progress for evaluation, billing and reporting.
• Advises on adaptive equipment to assist daily activities.
• Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team in meetings and care planning.
• Participates in training and supervision of team members, volunteers and students.
• Follows and adjusts the treatment plan to maximize outcomes and discharge readiness.

Newport News, VirginiaHiring Range$55.00 - $63.00/Hourly Actual pay is determined by program, work commitment and business needsOverviewThe Occupational Therapist carry out an individualized programs for patient with acute and chronic health conditions to maximize their quality of life and achieve their functional goals. The therapist will also maintain a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff.What you will doPerforms evaluations, determines OT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs occupational therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improve mobility, relieve pain, improve health, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.Evaluates and assesses the patient timely, based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence based guidelines and regulatory standards (state & organizational policies, requirements of accrediting bodies, etc.). Assesses and documents progress for evaluation, billing and reporting purposes.Advises on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities.Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, as assigned.Assists and participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students.Follows and carries out the treatment plan. Modifies to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria and returns to optimal level of care.
