Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Texas (OT: TX).
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referral and plan of care; designs programs meeting patient needs across physical, psychological, age-specific factors.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure timely patient and customer needs; involve patient/family in goal setting and education.
• Completes all necessary documentation per policy, including patient care charting, charge entry, peer chart reviews, and daily scheduling.
• Coordinates care with other departments and hospital activities to support the mission and goals; participates in discharge planning and rounds.
• Assigns, supervises and reviews care of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and therapy aide.
• Promotes and supports professional customer service while interacting with clients, guests and staff.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and Implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referral, and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet the patient’s physical, psychological, and age specific needs; Performs evaluations, tests, and measurements of functional status, neuromuscular, musculo‐skeletal, cognitive/perceptual, and sensory /psychological Functions

• Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner; encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education

• Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review. This includes, but is not limited to patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule

• Coordinates care of patients with other departmental and hospital activities in a manner that fosters a positive professional image consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission statement. This includes, but is not limited to, discharge planning, participation in care conferences, interdisciplinary rounds, collaborative practice groups, the student program and community endeavors

• Assigns, supervises and reviews the care of patients and duties of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, and therapy aide

• Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner. Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education

Where You'll Work

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.

Pay Range

$36.51 / $60.24hourly
